Brandstorm helps entrepreneurs create professional brand identities. However, users often find it difficult to know where to start or what choices align with their vision, leading to frustration or giving up midway.

I analyzed competitors in the branding and design space, focusing on tools like Canva and Looka. These platforms excel in offering creative options but often overwhelm users with too many choices. My goal was to create a focused app that prioritizes simplicity and clarity.

Using insights from my research, I crafted a clear plan to bring this branding app to life. From brainstorming concepts and mapping user flows to outlining a feature roadmap and creating low-fidelity wireframes, I focused on designing a seamless and intuitive experience that addresses user pain points while keeping the process simple and approachable.

Crafting the Visual Identity
With the core structure in place, I focused on establishing a visual identity that aligns with the app’s purpose. The branding reflects a balance of creativity and simplicity, with a vibrant color palette and clean typography designed to inspire confidence and make the process feel approachable for entrepreneurs.
Usability testing & revisions
Key findings
Through usability testing, I discovered critical insights that helped refine the design and improve the user experience. These findings were grouped into two main categories:
1 - Guidance & Clarity
Participants felt unsure about their selections due to a lack of labels on fonts and colors.
Users wanted more guidance during key steps, like color and font selection, to feel confident in their choices.
2 - Customization & Flow
Participants expected to see customize icons for adjusting their selections but found none.
Some users couldn’t find a clear way to save their progress and return later, leading to frustration.
Revisions
1 - Guidance & Clarity
Clearly labeled all fonts and color palettes to help users make confident decisions.
Included short instructional text or tooltips to guide users through each step of the process.
2 - Customization & Flow
Added small, intuitive icons to allow users to tweak their selections easily.
Introduced a “Save & Continue Later” button to ensure flexibility for users.

1 - Iterate & Improve
My initial wireframes lacked key features like questionnaire screens and customization options. By incorporating user feedback, I was able to create a more engaging and complete experience.
2 - Balance Simplicity & Control
Users wanted an intuitive process but also needed options to tweak their choices. Striking this balance was key to building user trust and satisfaction.
3 - Test Early, Test Often
Mockups revealed areas where users needed more guidance, like tips for font and color selection. Adding these small details made a big difference in usability.
